Trying to help an older gentleman out with identifying his old shotgun. I only have these photos to go off of. I thought the gold lettering on the sides was interesting. The wood seems pretty nice for what it is, as well. I have never seen one like this. He claims it to be 60-80 years old. It is a break action single shot 20 gauge. I'm unsure of the barrel length. Any ideas?

Manufacturer of utility-grade single and side-by-side barrel shotguns under their own and other brand names. The company also manufactured barrels for Sharps Rifle Co. 1878-1880.
Company history for William H. Davenport:

W.H. Davenport & Co. - 1878-1880 (Providence, RI)
Davenport Arms Co. - 1880-1884 (Providence, RI)
Bay State Arms Co. - 1884-1890 (Uxbridge, MA)

Davenport Fire Arms Co. - 1890-1909 (Norwich, CT)
Located in Providence, RI, Uxbridge, MA, and Norwich, CT, circa 1878-1909.

After a bit of searching... It looks like a Model 1895, and the missing piece is the takedown tabbed threaded pin.
