If you watch the news story in the link you posted, it says one of the man was shot and was undergoing surgery as they were doing the interview

I "tried" watching the video in the link and all it was was one commercial after another with no actual news story. Tried searching for this story on other news sights and nothing comes up. From this I would have to guess the Cops shots did not hit anyone. It does mention these Mensa candidates did not bother to get a permit to do this. Things like this are exactly why they are supposed to get one. Not long ago Netflix was filming a kidnap scene here where 911 lines lit up. That one the LEO's knew what was going on since they of course told Police what they were doing.
