I understand it is legal but most casinos post no firearms allowed. Does anyone have experience with this?

Yes, I do have experience with this particular subject…. unless there's metal detectors, and/or a pat-down search, live (and conduct) your life like a responsible and free citizen.

That being said, this will pretty much answer your question(s).

Perhaps we have an insider on the forum that provides some insight on this, but I know about five years ago, hotels in Vegas, and presumably other locations, were testing a cognitive radar system to look for the shapes of certain items, such as guns and knives. Among other locations, they were to be placed at the check-in counters at hotels. (This is why my bags are no longer with me when I check in at any hotel.)

I believe some hospitals (e.g., Salem) have this as well. When I went through one about a year ago, they politely asked me if I had a knife in my right front pocket (I did). I did not care about a wad of car keys. I watched (unfortunately for several hours) while in the lobby as it picked off multiple other folks with knives.

We will be there for three nights on our way to AZ. I hate to leave my gun in the room or in the car. I suppose I can hide it in the room after we check-in if that's my only choice
. Vegas is famous for having items stolen out of rooms.

A Vaultek when traveling is essential to me. I wouldnt hide a gun in a hotel room or trust their room safe.

Do NOT use the "safes" that are in the rooms! One time when I knew we were going to go into a true secure area for the day, I removed the HVAC return-air grill in our room and hid my EDC up inside the ductwork.

And no, I'm not Jason Borne…. or Tom Cruise.

I'm much taller…. :D

Just got back from Vegas carried the entire time
My room also had a locked security combo , I just left the don't disturb sign on my door the entire time.
While the state fair I just attended a few weeks ago , I had to disarm before waking in. Metal detector , wands. I watched a guy show his concealed ID to security and they 5 guy surrounded him demanding he not come in

Stayed at the Flamingo about a week ago after driving down a Uhaul for a friend relocating to Henderson. Stayed there to recoup before flying back, went down to grab A smoke in the lobby, I wish I could scrub some images from my brain. A 350 pound primate in a two piece bathing suit was the worst. Btw the homeless use the pool too.

Lemme guess….. y'all are most vulnerable during the "pee breaks" every (seemingly) 35-minutes?

:s0114:
Ditto that! My wife honks the horn for extended periods when someone does something stupid. Some day, she's going to do that to the wrong person and I will likely suffer the consequences.
