Sign up on the Practiscore website (you'll likely need to do that to register and look at your scores anyway) and then do a search for matches in your area.
USPSA is a often a full throttle high speed low drag competition whereas IDPA/Defensive Pistol matches tend to run slightly slower but force you to use 'cover' (incoming rounds always have the right-of-way!) and think tactically. Do you, or do you plan to, concealed carry?

Get thee to a range that rents guns and try a bunch out. Don't get the one that looks cool or that a slick salesman talks you into, get the one that fits your hand that you can shoot well. Personally, I prefer Glocks. That's just me.

That sounds like a good idea.Im planning to focus shooting with my less dominant hand,my left.Ive only been shooting a handful of times so all guns would feel awkward tbh ,I'd have nothing to compare it to so I think that's an advantage as someone new.Im definitely planning on purchasing a Glock though.

Glocks? Meh... IMO.

Mind, we have a bunch of Glock's. They do run & do run well. However there are better handguns & by far today.

You really really should try some various out to determine what might work best for you. Could be it will actually be Glock. Could be it will be something else...

What would you recommend rather than Glock ? What's your preferred EDC?

I'd recommend that you learn to shoot well with your dominant hand, then work on your weak hand

Doesn't matter what *I* prefer, because you & I likely differ. Be it just a bit, or a bunch. *You* need to determine what fits & works best for *you*!

-We currently own 16 Glock/glock gen 3 clones. 8 Glock's (various models & calibers) & 8 PSA daggers (gen 3 9mm Glock clones). Right off the bat the dagger hand fitment & trigger are better than a gen 5 Glock.

Then, we own handguns which fit even better than the Daggers...
