class 3 dealer question

I recently order a can from a local class 3 dealer that had to be ordered. This was about 2 months ago. My dealer is stating he has to wait for the ATF to transfer the items to him. I may be way off but since he has his class 3 shouldn't this be a quick process. Any info would help Thanks 1shot

ATF handles the paperwork, but depending on which can you ordered it could take 3+ months to come in (SWR for example)

YHM only takes about 6 weeks.

ETA: The length of time varies between suppressor manufacturers depending on back-log.

Unfortunately, I cannot remember why we were talking about them. It was a while ago.

When I order YHM cans, they take about 6 weeks to come in.

I ordered mine from someone else about 6 weeks or longer. Still no word from the dealer. Weird.

The time frame isn't set in stone. They vary from Manufacturer to examiner.

That is why I say they take "about" 6 weeks.

ATF takes there sweet time on transfers. If you're a corp or trust it will go quicker since there is no FBI fingerprints / background BS. 3 months used to be the norm for an ATF transfer then it was a bit quicker. ATF is no getting hammered again so you can expect a 2-3 month wait for a personal transfer. For the form 3 (transfer to your dealer from the other dealer or manufacturer) that will be quicker, but expect it to be a few weeks.
