Though there is absolutely nothing we can do about it, everyone should know that Citibank holds the contract for the Department of Defense travel credit card. Know also that the use of said card is mandatory for ALL charges made while on official travel.

Ironic, those sworn to defend the constitution will be required to fund corporations trampling it.

It may be prudent to look at this activity and consider how it could be applied to other aspects of our financial lives now that we, for the most part have moved to a cashless society. It is not just the USA, because other countries are doing the same.

I would venture to say the new world order spoken of by many prominant global leaders is not a tin foil conspiracy, but rather the reality of the day.

Our 'small f' federal Reserve is one branch of the global banking system and our financial systems and credit card/debit card system are all tied together with differing names.

Today the beast is showing its claws by telling us what we can or cannot buy.

Tomorrow the beast will tell us how no one will be able to buy or sell anything unless that person comes under, and swears allegance to that beast.

Guys...this is not tinfoil. Add this OP issue to the list and that list is adding up to a story, and that story told long ago is now right in front of our faces.

If they can or can not do something, the result is going to be a loss of revenue because of all the people that say screw you to city bank.

I doubt it will make much of a difference, and I almost never boycott, but I am not going to do business with an entity that actively prevents me from exercising my rights. If they want to donate money to candidates or causes, that is their right, but when they say I can't use their credit card to buy something that is my right to buy, then I will go to a different credit card - lots of credit card companies want my business.

I have done tens of thousands of dollars worth of business with Citibank over the years. No more.

You good sir are 100% correct in this! This isn't tin foil any longer but truths we have known a very long time now, and it's going to get much worse long before it gets better!:(
Do what you can to protect your selves, get out of debt if you can, stock up on every thing you can!

According to the account purchase summary, I did $21K+ of purchases thru them in the past year.

Just shy of $4K of that was obviously firearms related stuff.

I hope that at least a few million gun owners follow suit. It would make for an interesting conversation in the board room if this has any real impact on their balance sheet. I really doubt that any significant number of people will signup for a new Citibank CC just because they agree with their new policy.

Son of a B*&@H! Geez I buy everything with my Costco Citi Card. Dang it! Time to dump it.

Yup - just be aware that you will lose any rewards since the current reward cycle started a month or two ago. Also, you may have to get a new Costco card ID. I intend to let Costco know why I need a new card. I can always find another CC card that will give me cash back. I still have my Amazon/Chase card.

I bought a LOT of stuff with the Citibank card.

Yup! See or read The Handmaiden's Tale for a good view of possible consequence.

Closed my Costco Citi card uesterday, which had been open for 10 years. I made $10,000 worth of purchases on that card in the last 2 years, which should be something around $200-275 in lost revenue for Citi.
