He was from that region. Jerry Lee was the same.
It wasn't unusual but these guys were famous and it got noticed.

The point is,back then in them that parts,you had 10 or more kids,so ifin someone wanted one of,well close to of age,you might contemplate it,
Rather you could spell it or not.
Not sayin it was the best situation,but it was one less mouth to feed.
