Regardless of "personal inclinations" the man could really play the guitar.
Chuck Berry had a huge influence on music in general and rock and roll in particular.
Without him , rock and roll would have had a different sound.

But beyond that, few players, if any, can lay claim to carving out the chunky foundational building blocks of all modern rock guitar like Chuck.
