What the optic might have looked like...

It appears to me to be a nicely done sporter , made from a military Mauser 98 Rifle , of the WWI era.
What arsenal made the rifle and who did the sporterization...?
Is probably lost in the sands of time.

Many 98's were spoterized like yours between the world wars...some well done...others not so nicely done.
Looks like you have a nice one.

I don't know too much about the this rifle I purchased at a garage sale so I'm trying to figure out what it is? don't even know what arsenal made it, all the markings that I know off I have I posted in the pictures

I understand that...with no makers mark and no name for the sporterization....
You probably won't ever know...hence my comment of" lost in the sands of time...."

It is a Military 98 Mauser of the WWI era , that has been sporterized.
