Hopefully the vast range of knowledge here will contain the answer to my question. I have a brass fitting that I am trying to identify so I can replace it. It is a straight connector with standard 1/2"-20 female threads for 5/16" inverted flare fitting on one end with .520"-20 male straight thread on the other end. That is the measured OD of the thread so it is probably a nominal .524" or .525" diameter. I also have the same style of fitting with a .520"-18 male measured thread on it. The fitting is intended to seal with a copper washer. I've looked through the specs on every type of fitting I can think of with no luck. It is not a CGA, JIC, whitworth or metric thread. Neither McMaster-Carr nor Grainger show anything with this thread. No list of thread standards that I have found shows it either. Help!!

This is interesting. If you're stumped, it might be from space aliens? Can't help at all, but want to watch.
Carry on.

The guys at Advanced Hydraulics Supply would know. They have a lot of fittings.

Is this for an automotive brake system?

Not sure what it is from originally. I had one in my miscellaneous fittings bin and modified it for another use. That one got damaged and I'm trying to find a replacement I can modify. I needed the 5/16" female flare fitting with a male 1/2-20 thread on it but they don't make those. I took this one and turned it to 1/2" on the lathe and ran a 1/2"-20 die over it and it was perfect. Easy deal. I didn't realize I may have the only one in captivity.
