I recently bought one of those brass catchers that velcrows onto an AR. What a piece of junk. It caused my SR556 to jam on empty brass, and when my buddy put it on his colt the brass fell and hit him on the feat. I believe this piece was desighned to catch shooters and not brass:(, We did come up with a solution though, we positioned ourselves so the brass flew into the back of the car and cleanup was a breeze!:D

Ha I had the same problem with my sig 556. The bag itself was causing interference when the rifle was cycling so off it went. There is a company that make nice ones that bolt to the top rail, makes your rifle look like a SAW. They are of course 50 bucks vs the 12 bucks I paid for mine, but if your wanting to save your brass, it may be worth it, and it actually works.

I'm a little reluctant as I just got screwed, but I will consider and see what other posts come up. It does look like a box, bot may work on my556 as there is no carry handle to deal with.

Thanks'

I have 2 of the velcro/cloth ones for my AR. I noticed on the first one that as the bag filled, it got pulled flush to the ejection port which did not allow the brass to eject. The zipper that supposedly allowed it to just pile up was poorly designed and the bag just filled up anyway. The second is a lot better; mesh bag and the zipper across the bottom so it mostly acts as a deflector.

I also have rigid ones that is from that URL. One I got for my HK91 and it's a royal pain to get it on around the scope mount. The one I got for the AR I 'modified' (since it's just plastic) to fit more easily under the scope. But then I changed mounts and risers and it won't work for me any more. I've considered trying their flat top version but haven't gotten around to it yet.

You could always go with a deflector: <broken link removed> (high tech looking job) or something really basic: https://www.dillonprecision.com/

I got this one, It's UTG brand, made in China. It works fine. Never had any problems with it. I empty it after 20rds. I use 20rd mags at the bench.

Is this the one that isn't working for you?

I could see how it doesn't work for a Sig556, because the bolt handle reciprocates, but it is made for an AR, that charges from the rear.
