I've seen mention of these in a few other threads on here but not a dedicated post so figured I would get one started!

Curious what everyone's opinions are on the best EDC IWB belts are?

For reference I'm 5'10 180 pounds and carry appendix with an athletic build. Carrying a SIG P365 X-Macro.

My front runners at the moment are the Hunter Constantine belt, Tier 1 EDC-S belt (which seems to be almost exactly the same as the HC belt plus a third adjustment loop), and the American operator gear EDC flex belt (the lite version). Anyone had experience with these and might have preferences over the other? Can't seem to find a ton of info on the AOG belts but they seem to have far more stiff section than the others which sounds nice and also worries me a bit. Comfort is a necessity for me personally as I've had the super ridged belts with a cobra buckle in the past and they're not what I'm looking for anymore.

Let me know what everyone thinks!

1000% would recommend Kore Essentials belts. The ratcheting system allows for perfect fit, and even adjustment on the fly. I can sit down, covertly loosen the belt, and then when I stand up quick cinch and good to go! Tons of buckle styles/ options:

My Cobra Buckled Belts have become a range belts for my non-carry pistols. I went with the Hunter Constantine Carry Belt and haven't found a reason to try anything else. No experience with the other belts listed.

Here is a search for threads containing reference to "Constantine"… You will notice that comfort is mentioned often.

Have a great weekend.

I've heard a lot of good things about these! I like the closure system and how easy it is to adjust. My concern is that it will be almost too stiff still? Reason I have the other ones in mind is that they've got a little stretch to them which seems nice for day to day stuff but I could be wrong!

This seems to be the general consensus I've gotten with people who have owned the belt. Too good to want to change to anything else after they've gotten used to how comfortable they are! Thanks for the info and have a good weekend as well.

I have a similar belt with the ratcheting system from Nexbelt and love it. However, since the OP stated:

He would need to put on 30-40 pounds to see if what works for me, works for him. :p I'm also 5' 10" but haven't been under 200 since before I was married 36 years ago. As far as the athletic build, I suppose I can make that claim. After all, a nose tackle is an athlete. :s0108:

They do have different 'levels' of stiffness- so you can get a less stiff belt from them if that is the preference. However I wear one all day every day, and IMO you want the stiffness as it carries the weight better and ironically makes it more comfortable, even though it seems counter intuitive to have such a still thing be 'comfortable' compared to say a soft leather. Soft flimsy leather belts have zero use in carrying concealed. IMO carrying concealed will never be 'comfortable' but is all about finding that balance between comfort and having the gun be set up for the best outcome if it is needed!

Regarding the 'stretch'- imo you dont actually want that, the gun will not ride well, and will flop around. That is the benefit of the 'ratchet' system- you can discreetly adjust it on the fly, which increases comfort. When i go to sit, every time i reach down through my shirt, hit the lever, and as i sit the belt loosens and becomes very comfortable. then when i go to stand, I just grab both sides of my pants and give a little push in, and it ratchets right up. Super discrete if you have a untucked shirt- no one has a clue!

Ha - yeah nexbelt is basically the same thing, and just as awesome! I personally am husky as well, but i have 3 other gun guy friends who are freaking string beans, who also have converted over to Kore (ratchet) style belts after seeing my set up. So works just as well for the string beans as it does for us potatoes . . .🥔 ;-)

The Hunter Constatine is the perfect IWB belt.

It's completely useless for OWB though, which is what The Wilderness belts are for.

All other belts are just decorative,

I'm 5'10" and about 185 pounds. Carry a Glock 19 appendix daily. Even at work. Stiff belts ended up causing me ton of back pain while carrying appendix.

Hunter Constantine EDC belt is bar far the best and most comfortable belt I have found. Atleast for appendix. You don't want a super stiff belt for appendix carry. I've also heard very good things about the Tenicor zero belt.

The tier 1 edc is the Hunter Constantine belt with an extra loop. The tier 1 guys and Hunter Constantine are pretty tight and do a lot together.

Plus you can wear the HC EDC belt in board shorts, athletic gear or pants that don't have belt loops allowing you to still carry.

You definitely want stretch for appendix carry.

The humor in the video is dumb but the belt is top tier. I'd gladly be shill for this belt. Unfortunately I'm not being paid to push the product. Haha

Which is it? IWB and AIWB are two different things. For a dedicated AIWB you might like something like this…

Several appropriate IWB have already been mentioned, I'll add…

I also like a good leather belt and am currently wearing this one pictured at the top (1.5" natural tan)…

I started the thread as a general catch all for people to talk about the belts they might like for various IWB positions but me personally I'm looking for AIWB. I'll check these out though!

I watched that video the other day! Very silly but makes a solid case for the belt nonetheless haha I'm in the same mindset as you though. Having tried the way stiffer options in the past has me concerned about anything that leans more that way. The other person on here talking about the Kore concepts one will at least make me look at them again but these stretch belts like the HC and Tier 1 are where I'm leaning for sure. I haven't had a single person who has worn the HC belts tell me they were bad or uncomfortable 👍

I really like the Foundation Belt from EDC Belt Co. It's a similar concept to the Hunter Constantine belt in that it avoids having stiff scuba webbing all the way around, but instead of elastic, it uses a more flexible nylon on the back.

It's also much cheaper than the Hunter Constantine. I actually bought the HC first but found the metal hardware way too bulky for me; I couldn't stomach the high price for a belt that didn't feel like a 100% comfortable fit.

If you get the Foundation belt, just make sure to follow the sizing instructions on the EDC Belt Co. website. It's very important for getting the right fit—I learned the hard way and had to exchange mine!

Here's a review about the belt:
