Man yer takin' yer time!

Well to be fair...
EPS was shooting my Original Colt 1860 Army at one time...
And loading while giving instructions , takes time...and...
We had an issue with a unnoticed before loading , but noticed when loading , miscast round ball...
So it wasn't the most idea of conditions to showcase a cap and ball revolver.

I am sure that once he gets the hang of it , it will go smoother and faster.

Whew! Glad that's cleared up. For me, loading is part of the fun of shooting BP so never tried to time it. Maybe if I was to be involved with something like the Alamo, I'd be more concerned with speed.

The guy at my range loaded up some red tubes with powder. He poured them down the muzzle then loaded the ball I assume. Rammed it down and fired. Seemed to go fairly smoothly. I know virtually nothing about muzzle loaders but that cloud of smoke and the smell was intoxicating. :)
I have have tubes that I can load up with powder before I go.
That makes it easier for the long gun.
But with the revolver you have to load each hole in the cylinder.
Press the ball in .
All the way around then grease it .
The 15 to 20 minutes thing was a joke kinda.
There is times when it could take that long if you have problems.

Well you can always look at it this way.
A problem when you are teaching is a good thing.
Now I know what to do when I have a problem and your not there LOL.
I went and shot it back in June and didn't have any problems.

I met with @GOG today to sell him my Stevens 511. He's a nice fellow and deal went great. He happened to bring along a few BP goodies, which is most appreciated. :D

Alas, my next planned meeting, further south in Medford, featured someone who flaked. Can't win them all. :s0112:
