Confession time. The film, "The Getaway" came out in 1972. I saw it and became enchanted with the Colt Python with six inch barrel that Al Lettieri carried in the film. I got caught on this; one of my gun show pals discovered that I'd bought such a gun and he said, "You bought that because you saw it in 'The Getaway,' didn't you?" I was a little embarrassed for being so shallow and impressionable. But I was only 22 years old. I never again was tempted to buy a gun on that basis.

Beretta 92 Inox. Always wanted one and the wife got one for me some Christmases ago.

Shoots good and I like the size of the grip.

Someday I'll buy a Desert Eagle because why not but it's outside my budget for now.

For some reason I wanted one. Always had a soft spot for folding stocks, stainless and wood. Probably since I was an impressionable kid and watched the A-Team.
Saw this and had to get it… it's my "B-Team". Not much good over 50 yards, but looks cool though.

Most things in the collection I've acquired in part because I like the look of it, find it interesting, or saw it in pop culture. G36C clone, UMP clone, MP5 clone, AUGs, TP9, Cx4 just to name a few... Unique designs, iconic aesthetics, and fortunately most have been reliable enough that I would be willing to trust them in real world situations.

The big exception is EDC, which for me is all about practicality. Can I shoot it well under stress? Can I carry it with minimal discomfort (In other words, am I more likely than not to leave it in the safe or put it on)? Is it reliable (500+ rounds, no malfunctions)? Does it have acceptable capacity and terminal performance? If it checks all the boxes, it goes into the EDC pile - even if it fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.

I like to buy stuff that makes me happy.
Like the goofball Heritage Rough Rider with a 16 inch barrel.

I found they were having a sale on accessories and purchased a stars and bars 22lr cylinder and Lady Liberty grips for it.

I later also purchased this 22mag cylinder for it.

I also picked up this Century Arms 20 gauge coach gun.
Side by side and exposed hammers is just good inexpensive fun.

LOL. I was in a pawn shop, and they had an 8" Colt Python on consignment. The guy behind the counter noted my interest and asked me what the heck I would do with it if I bought it. I told him I could be like Hawk on Spenser for Hire. He laughed and shook his head, killing the buzz on my potential purchase.

I settled for a 6" Python years later (about a month ago).

Eight inches s just too big. You should be content with six inches.

I could never get my sub 2k to run hahaha
Mine actually ran incredibly well, and very accurate but It was all the junk plastic parts on it I could SEE eventually becoming a problem.

Initially I began to think about custom machining metal parts for it to replace the ones I saw were going to be problematic - especially the front sight. That was the worst however I DID like the fact the front blade could be adjusted up or down, or tilted front or rear to adjust elevation but that was just a part of it. Also it was literally the most difficult gun I had ever broken down completely for a complete cleaning and later learned Kel Tec did NOT recommend this - for obvious reasons.

Later I learned the Gen 1 barrels were epoxied in and some were coming loose however a 'fix' could be accomplished with a drill and pin system but it was already gone by then.

Hey all! I was curious what have you guys have bought just because you think it looks cool?
Auto-Ordnance T1BSB (it's essentially a 1928A1, but in S/A) and a Remington 870 Tac-14 DM fall under that category for me...

I've heard of people having great luck with them….being %100 transparent mine was in .40 and I think that might have had something to do with my Issues.

Agree with @CountryGent looks are a major factor for any firearm (excluding edc which is purely function for me). I can't think of any I've bought on looks alone. But several times looks have piqued my interest enough to buy it. But I wouldn't buy it unless it was reliable #1, and served some function I want #2.

Off the top of my head, #1 I would be Sar 2000. I bought it to experiment with different finishes for the all stainless gun. But the other factors were it's a reliable cz-75 clone, members here recommended it, and it was $343. I jeweled the frame and next I'll probably sand and polish the slide to see what that looks like.
#2 was Cricket 22 bolt action pistol. Other factors were price ($156 as I recall) and barrel length. If it wasn't threaded I never would have considered it. I would like to find something similar in 9mm or 300 BLK.
How do you like that HUXWRX suppressor? I'm thinking bout gettin one.
