Don't not leave cover...but make sure when you're behind it, you don't lose your field of view.

Cover can easily work "both ways"...
Also don't forget to scan the whole area as well as keeping a eye on the target...
"Tunnel vision" or being hyper focused on the target and or just one spot , can leave you "blind" in other fields of view...

Please note that I am not fault finding here or blaming the Officer in the OP...just pointing out , something to remember , based on my experiences...

Agreed... use your "panovision"... "tunnel vision" will block out those "little things" that'll make you start leaking from holes in your body.

There are times when leaving cover can be a good option, but every situation is different. Being able to adapt to such things, is what will help one get a better advantage.

Good for the Officer that he survived. I would like to interview him, not about the incident itself...but what he was seeing and his thoughts as it was unfolding.
