Good evening all,

I was at a gun shop recently and found a Remington 870 Police turn in for a very fair price. I filled out my 4473 and presented my CHL. The gal compared it to my driver's license and address on the 4473 and told me because the addresses don't match, I likely wouldn't be able to take the shotty home the same day and would probably have to wait the 2+ weeks for the background check.

I've purchased previous firearms and haven't run into this issue. I ended up not purchasing the gun and felt like a bit of a jerk for backing out of the sale.

Figured I'd ask people much smarter than myself if they've heard of this and if this is true.

Thanks in advance!

I haven't presented my CHL ever, not once and for this entire crisis I've been put in line one time. Every other time for the history of my lifetime has been instant. I'd assume your CHL is known to OSP already so don't stress it. Worst case, you wait a couple weeks.

Where, specifically, was this and how much were they asking?

Yes, it totally matters for a proper response to your inquiry! :D

Nosferatu, I'm sure they have one or two left out of the 15 or so on the rack 🤣 . $350 at the "if we don't have it, you don't need it" store........

TTSX, that would make sense it is all already known by OSP. Just threw me off a bit when I'd never heard that before. After all, I'm all about impulse buys and instant gratification.

Never understood why people hand anyone their chl. Never done it, even when buying a gun and I always jump right to the front of the line. As for the addresses not matching, if its your chl that isn't the correct addy you need to get that updated asap, I believe there is a short time limit in which thats supposed to be done (maybe a few weeks?).

Yes, your CHL isn't valid if it doesn't match the address.
