I know they are fairly scarce but I've no interest in paying an arm and a leg for it, which is why I'm not looking on Gun Trader. (The one I saw there was being sold by someone who was far too impressed with his ownership of it.)

If you can hold out, PSA is making retro uppers and lowers, H&R marked (Which would be correct for an M16A1).

Currently out of stock, of course.

Just a heads up these have become extremely rare to find and when you do find them they are insanely priced. I wish I knew that years ago when I picked mine up Ida picked up a dozen of em.
Best of luck. I recommend sending a request to PSA to make retro A1 uppers seeing how the market has grown for these. The more requests they get the more likely they are to reproduce them.

Thank you for the support and the suggestion. I actually picked up a SP1 upper to complete the planned build, which actually worked out better than planned; Lucky me !!!
