I picked up a Remington Rand pistol with some really unique grip panels on it but there is no makers mark and I am wanting to find out if any one maybe familiar with them or who may have made them. Any help would be great.
Definitely some custom grips . . . the blank brass colored bars could be waiting for a count, or a name. The stag, ciervo, could be a family name, a kind of status (even just a macho thing) or even a regional association (the deer in Mexico is commonly associated with the Huichol and Yaqui native people, and subsequently the regions they have traditionally lived in). Definitely the Mexican Eagle and Snake on a cactus, like the flag. The leaves along the side look like tobacco. Could be a presentation grip made for a family that are farmers/ranchers. Tobacco also a native heritage thing. A bit gaudy, but interesting. Are the metals pewter, brass? Definitely thematically similar to these grips: mexican eagle 1911 grips at DuckDuckGo
