Any pits near Scappoose?

Looking for a shooting pit that's not an hour drive away Apparently there's a good amount of BLM land out on Pisgah Home rd. I was wondering if anyone had any input about what's to find out there. Doesn't have to be pretty, just safe.

Darned if I know! I haven't been out there yet, but I took a look on Google Maps, Google Earth and onXMaps for Pisgah Home Rd, and I see it may be a crap shoot to find something on BLM land. Some spots look like they have potential for shooting, but then you find out they are on private land!

Lots of it is Landlocked from Weyerhaeuser land. Do you have onXMaps app or some other map app that shows land ownership? That's about the only way to be sure you're on public land. Weyerhaeuser doesn't allow target shooting on their land, (only a recreation permit for hunting), so you wouldn't want to get popped while shooting on their land. Some of it says Longview Timber, but that was bought out by Weyerhaeuser.

Hopefully a local will chime in and give you a secret tip!

They do have right-of-ways granted to BLM in some places, so those roads would be open, but some have closed gates. That's another thing onXMaps will show you.
