I have no experience with optics, but I do know that if you wanted to cut your Vortex optic in half with a dye grinder they would replace it. Maybe not if you did it regularly, but you could probably do it a few times.

Upon investigation, I would get the Vortex at that price range for the warranty alone.

Both are good companies and not good scopes, what it would come down to for me is the warranty, the price, and the reticle.
