Got an email today that this company is closing its downtown Portland location. Also yesterday I got a notice in the mail that a jeweler that has been in downtown Pdx for 46 years is closing due to vandalism, etc.
Here is part of the Golden Optical blurb:
"... Due to Covid, we had to suspend operations for a short period of time this past year. As a result of the protests, riots, and vandalism, we decided to move Golden Optical to a more secure location downtown. Unfortunately, Covid-19 and the continuing vandalism in downtown Portland is not conducive to running a business.
With heavy and sad hearts, we have decided to permanently close our Golden Optical location. Our last day of operations will be Friday, May 28th. Instead, we will focus on serving your vision needs at our sister location, Bethany Optical..."
Meanwhile the snowflakes say "Don't worry, all illegal drugs like meth, heroine, and angel dust are legal now so everything will be o.k" and "they are just buildings, vandalizing them doesn't hurt anything". Portland downtown is on its way to becoming the next Detroit. Soon the only ones going downtown will be drug dealers, thieves, and homeless.
