People that dumb scare me. He could of just as easily killed his girlfriend pointing it at her and showing it's unloaded. I'm not for increased legislation, but if there were something to keep idiots gunless, I'd listen. But most are felons and just own illegally so it's not something that could be legislated.

Sad thing is if you read he whole article there are others who have done the same thing.....

What is the first rule of guns???? Make sure it is EMPTY!!!! And not by putting it to your head and pulling the trigger...

Yeah I have heard of this happening a couple times. Recently I read about a guy that did it while drunk to impress a girl and show her his gun collection was safe and unloaded. Personally even if I had checked my gun 20 times I am still not putting it against my head let alone doing that and pulling the trigger.

My first rule is treat every gun as if it were actually loaded until I have personally checked to make sure it isn't.

And further, I consider that a gun will load itself when unattended.
