So my neighbor just came home with this BSF break action air pistol, cut barrel and all. He wants to have a new barrel machined so he can actually work the break without killing himself! Anybody know anything about this type of pistol? Is it just a matter of finding a good gun smith to make a barrel? Thanks guys, any and all information would be helpful!

Not a lot of those on the U.S. market, mostly found for sale over in Europe. It has value in being a parts gun for somebody in need of one, but building a barrel would more then likely cost twice what it's worth.
just my 2 cents worth of advice.

It would probably be cheaper to buy a new air pistol.

I've owned and used a lot of them. Some are nice for looks or nostalgia, but I'd rather have accuracy and ease-of-use.

For a budget shooter that's accurate and uses CO2, I'd recommend:

For a bit more $$$, get something with enough accuracy you could use it in a match:

And uses no gas, single-stroke pump, good consistent shots better than the CO2 type offers.

More for fun than high-accuracy (although still good shooters):
A nice wheel-gun for under $100. Get extra "shells".

A great semi-auto, very realistic:

Keep an eye on the classifieds here at NWFA. Often a good deal found.

Good luck, let us know how it works out! Nice of you to offer to help a neighbor.

AKA "Wischo S20M". If you cant find a barrel I might be interested in it for the right price. Its the standard version as opposed to the "Match" version.

There's some sentimental value for the gun as it was his dad's so I don't think he is looking to sell/replace it. I think he's just hoping to make it a little more easy to operate. Sounds like there is some history with these? I had never heard of them, but I'm not an air gun guy.

Try Roger at Reveltion Arms he is located in Aloha and he is working on my 357 air rifle barrel for me now. He is an outstanding guy and been doing guns for years. He doesnt answer phone here is his email address. Give him a try I think he may be able to help you.
