No, I was refering to your mention of Arlington, which was talked about previously in the thread. I understand the question fully, and have yet to hear one single intelligent, thought out arguement. There hasn't been one. Just a lot of internet patriots beating their chests.
Look pal. You need to wake up. Because you and another person blurbed about Arlington the subject it moot? You get the last word? Buulll-shiiit!
Let's revisit exactly what the man said:
Mr. Buono, who is a Roman Catholic, has said he objects to the display of any permanent religious symbol on government land.
If the court decides against the cross, based on this objection, Arlington, and monuments all over the country could be at risk.
Got that?
Now the cross is on private property, due to the land swap. So now the option of the court forcing others (the USPS) to allow other faiths etc. to built their monuments is past. Despite the fact that it is on private property the ACLU still wants it down. No exceptions,... Not even for Arlington. The azzhats at the ACLU are trying to use the Constitution and the Supreme Court against the property owners.
Now do you understand?
Get off your knees and get on board. You are either part of the solution, or part of the politically correct problem.

Exactly! when they start pushing their constitutional agenda toward defending the second amendment I will take them seriously, but until then they are just a left wing tool.

I lost what little respect I had for the ACLU when they defended NAMBLA the north america man boy love association...how sick, your tax dollars at work. I'm betting that the cross will be uncovered, and stand where it has for the past 75 yrs.

Dang, nailed it !!.....:s0140:

Opinions aren't chest beating. The chest beating comes from people who have gone down the road of name calling, cursing, claiming that I am "pissing on the leg" of veterans. It also refers to people who don't really care about the constitution, they only care about their own wants and needs. I'm still waiting on a well thought out arguement.

Well, we can sure see where your mind's at..;).. BTW, if it wasn't a cross, instead a Buddhist shrine, or the Star of David or whatever, and placed there by WWI vets as a monument of their sacrifice, and had stood for over 65 years, I'd defend it the same. It belongs to them, and I feel obligated to respect and defend their service, and I don't give a good rat's butt if it's politically correct or not...:s0155:

OK, would you support it if another group wanted to honor WWI Vets with a cross and they were denied?

You're rewriting history! you're taking your own words and putting them in a different context. Your words below

I would also like to point out your hypocrisy as the above shows you are guilty of name calling now aren't you!

It also refers to people who don't really care about the constitution, they only care about their own wants and needs.

As I mentioned before, the court also seams to be having a tough time with this so by your standards they don't care either? And if the supreme court rules in favor of the monument will they also not really care about the constitution, will they only care about their own wants and needs?

I'm still waiting on a well thought out arguement.
Yes and I will tell you exactly where to find it, just follow the case as it goes through the court. Or do your "wants and needs" supersede SCOTUS too?

How many of you are aware that while the ACLU trumpets their own greatness about defending people's Rights, they don't recognize the 2nd Amendment. In their main offices they list Amendment #1, omit #2 and list #3-#10. Some Costitutional protecters, RIGHT???

OK, would you support it if another group wanted to honor WWI Vets with a cross and they were denied?

Absolutely, if it had been there 75 years. The attitude of "hey, you got one there so we want one to, and if we can't you have to tear yours down, we don't care if it's been there 75 years and a war memorial," belongs to you and the ACLU not me....:D

Hey, PosterGuy what's your take on this ? Not only does it sport a "cross" and is a Christian house of worship, but taxpayers are footing the bill for millions of dollars of restoration and no requests for a Buddhist shrine, Jewish synagogue, or Muslim mosque next to it.......:s0001:

The restoration of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s spiritual home— historic Ebenezer Baptist Church— reaches a pivotal milestone, when the stained glass window bearing the image of Dr. King's father are re-installed.

Representatives of Lynchburg Stained Glass, the company that restored the church's windows in its Virginia studios, raised the restored panel of Rev. Martin Luther King, Sr., carefully returning it to the frame where it had been anchored since the 1960s. All of the church's stained glass windows were removed last October and transported to Lynchburg, Virginia. There, specialists re-leaded, cleaned, and waterproofed the windows, extending their life-span by 100 years.

The historic church, now maintained by the National Park Service, was a major influence in Dr. King's life. It was at Ebenezer that King was baptized, delivered his first sermon, co-pastored during the 1960s, and was eulogized during his April 9, 1968 funeral service. King's maternal grandfather, Rev. A.D. Williams, and father, Rev. Martin Luther King, Sr., collectively led the church for 81 consecutive years between 1894 and 1975 focusing on spiritual, social, economic, educational and political uplift.

Conducted by the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site, the two-phase restoration of historic Ebenezer is designed to return the church to its 1960s appearance. To date, the balcony, original wall color, and exterior masonry have all been restored. Work continues on the organ, baptismal pool, sidewalk, pews and altar. The approximately $4.4 million Phase II began Fall 2007 and is slated for completion this coming winter, provided there are no unforeseen delays. The $1.9 million Phase I, completed in 2002, solidified the building's infrastructure and mechanical outlay....

and nine times outa ten it ain't for their country, it's for their brothers.
this is absolutely the truth. All that save the world from communism goes right out the window the first time a bullet buzzes your noggin. It's all about the brotherhood with and to each other.it's a life time thing.I am pretty sure that is why the cross was put up,not for the country, religion or potato chips but for the men. This country was founded on christian religion, not muslim, budda or hari christna. These ACLU people are trying to PC us down the crapper as with anyone else who wants to change anything that is an established american idea.If budda or muslims wants to put a statue up,go ahead but don't take ours down. This country needs to purge the radicals that are in power and re instate the constitution the way it was intended.Knock ever PC correctness statute out of the books. That is what is causing so many problems now.You give someone an inch and everyone will try to change everything to the way they see it,whether right or wrong.

If there is anyone I can say speaks from experience it's Ding. I've never met anyone "alive" with more bullet holes than Ding! The guy is like Swiss cheese!

Being hit alot by incoming fire only says that you weren't where you should of been.

not trying to be off topic just a question was never in the military but have wondered does it bother the war vets that werent injured to see the guys that were get way more respect when they come home. Maybe it only appears that way but it seems like people open up there hearts more to soldiers that have been hurt even though soldier A (being injured) and soldier b (not injured) faught in the same place at the same time. saw the same things lost the same friends. I dont know if the person i quoted, if thats what they were getting at or what but just an off topic question.
