But can you carry a 50mg? 🤓

But can you carry a 50mg? 🤓
Obviously not, and in all honesty if I could afford to spend 6 grand on a carry gun and still survive the wrath of my wife I would likely do so. But alas I cannot afford that kind of expense and if I did and my wife found out I'd be buried in the back pasture somewhere futalizing the grass.

My biggest fear is that one day my wife will try to sell my guns for how much I told her what I paid for them. 🤣😅

Thankfully it's a free country (for now) and if it makes you happy then good on ya.

I will say that with an out of the box Glock that extra money would go a long way towards classes and ammo for training, and in the role of a CC pistol what advantage will that price difference give you?

Someone that spends $6k on a pistol most likely have enough money for classes and ammo. Would be unintelligent to pay that much and not shoot it lol

According to my 3 ex wives anyway.
Wow. You mentioned in another post, one of them tried to have a contract put out on you. I'm not going to say the usual, "you must have poor taste in women." What I will say is, you can never fully know a woman before the knot is tied. In which case, some people come out with more luck than others. I count my blessings that my initial choice turned out to be fortunate and didn't require a re-do.

Not only can you not fully know someone, but people do change over time. Then the variable is, is that change for the good, for the bad, or tolerable one way or the other.

Mrs. Merkt doesn't much care what guns are around. Once in a while, I show here one that might have "pretty" wood on it. One time before we were married over five decades ago, I had her fire six shots from a .38 Special and that's her full and probably final experience of it.

I'm gunna go out on a limb and say the average person doesn't carry a $6K gun. They may claim too but I doubt it. It's more of a let's take a photo of me sitting in my car with this $XXX dollar gun that I carry. That has zero holster wear (along with my $1K blade, rolex, etc.) and more than likely doesn't get shot much. Most people who have super high end guns aren't running them hard or banging them up. Sure maybe for competitive shooting, range use. But as an average conceal carry individual I find it very rare and a very odd "flex."

Not saying all. But it's extremely rare. I don't see many people running an ATLAS in defensive shooting courses. More power to you if you do.

This was sent to me for testing and I did carry while I had it. I do run my Atlas on matches. Thousands of rounds and still looks new which tells me the finish on them is a notch above the average and you can check my channel and see it in action. I do agree with you, the average person won't carry something like this. I did get mine for a pretty good deal which makes it easier to be "less careful" with it.

My most commonly carried EDC is a Wilson Combat X-TAC, so expensive (to me) high end guns do get carried daily. It's not a "flex" noboby sees it. It looks like every other black finished 1911 out there. No one knows I carry it, so, no "flex" here. I don't show it off. It's very plain looking. Nothing visually flashy about it. Just rock solid, rugged reliability that will long outlast me and whoever gets it after I'm gone.

Likewise, my watch is an Omega seamaster professional. Again, a high end watch. But it's not flashy. Just understated, bullet proof rugged. That's why I wear it.

My car. A Toyota RAV TRD. Most capable car I've ever owned. Low maintenance and easy on fuel. Metric butt ton of parts available. Will go anywhere I want to go with no worries. Will it climb up Everest? No. But I don't want to go up there anyway.

All the above states a simple philosophy. Choose what works best for you and your lifestyle. Choose what meets your requirements for accuracy, reliability and rudded durability. No need to justify your choices to anyone.

OP..... Nice pistol. Carry with confidence, it's a nice choice. Choose good ammo and shoot the new off of it.

Aren't you doing exactly that?

I am starting to carry my 1911 at least at home it so slim compared to G19 that normally carry. I know the 1911 has limited rounds but it shoots very well. Probably will carry the 1911 more when cooler weather is upon us. I may try a belly band as well but for the time being I carry my 1911 in an OWB DeSantis leather holster.

I carry a G34 at times. Same length as a 1911. It's definitely doable. And like you said the 1911 is quite a bit thinner.

I rented an HK .45 ACP from the gun range but did not care for it. I did rent a high end Colt .45 ACP that had a rail for a light but it was way outside my price range so just got a 5" barrel, government model 1911 instead.
