You guys ever see the video of the guy robbing the convenience store? Does it with a Marine standing behind him. Gets yanked the ground from behind and gets the crap kicked out of him. Element of surprise can be a great advantage.

I feel like sharing some background that I think made me more likely to carry, this seems like as good a place as any.

My mother's best friend was cut up with razor blades bound and doused in gasoline, then lit on fire when I was at a young age, she didn't survive.

My father's close friend at work later on in life had her drugged out son come ask for money and when she refused he took her into the woods and shot her in the back of the head.

Possibly as a result I grew up with my mother telling me about people like John Wayne Gayce in detail as she was obsessed with true crime novels.

This combined with a lot of my extended family being murdered in the Nazi death camps I think made me more likely to accept that evil exists in this world.

My wife was also raped and physically abused by many members of her family and boyfriend's growing up so I'm sure my stories aren't unique and many have seen evil.

We carry because evil exists. Maybe I grew up surrounded by more of it, but it can and does happen to those that least expect it.

To be clear, my Like was for the content of the post, understanding there is evil out there, far beyond what most can imagine. And calling that out, not for the suffering such acts have inflicted on your loved ones.

+1 Evil exists and I for one will not wait for someone to save me. They will have to save themselves!

I probably would have drawn on the guy, who knows what he would have done after he got the money. He had that knife stuck in the clerk's back ready to gut them. Who is to say he wasn't going to stab them just to distract everyone so he could escape?

Don't we have an imminent threat clause in Oregon that applies to anyone in danger, or just person and family?

Question is, what would you do? Just drawing down on the guy could be a life changing experience. How does that impact the wife, the kids, he family finances?

Taking care of the family is one thing, getting involved in a third party situation would make me stop and evaluate more carefully...
This is why I have my groceries delivered.

Like some one said drawing your gun and giving commands could be a PROBLEM.
He could grab the clerk then your in a hostage stand off .
Lol
He doesn't see him drawing his gun.
Draw SHOOT THEN GIVE SOME COMMANDS.
LIKE .
SOMEONE CALL THE CORNER.

I realize folks are busy with their day to activities but it just baffles me every time I see something like this and no pays attention what happening around them. Thankfully a "Sheep Dog" was nearby.
Man I tell you what you go to a store it's freaking zombie land .
Every one is looking at three phones.
Pretty much nobody is looking around .
