Thought I had an original idea, but turns out it has already been done. Anyone here had any experience with this? Depending on the bullet weight, I see that it screams along at 1500 to1900 fps.

Very little commercial ammo for this.
What do you want one for?
Same reason as always, more is better. I see a 1911 capable of shooting 4 different calibers- 40 s&w, 357 sig, 10mm, and 9x23. Four barrels and recoil springs, two different mags.
Additionally with a ported barrel, muzzle rise is reduced for faster follow up shots.

Btw competition can be viewed as training for real life.

I just buy a pistol in the caliber I want. And my needs won't be the same as yours as I prefer the 1911 in the original caliber. of .45ACP.

Nothing wrong with that. I dont see any advantage for self defense purposes but a 10 or 9x25 would be some potent bear medicine, plus it would just be fun to have the options if you want. It might be a lot of setup time if there are zero differences. Either a 1911 or a Glock 20 platform would get you going.
KKM barrels is where Id start, they even have the dillon for the G20...

I like 45 acp but I think (real) 10mm is better in most cases, more power, more capacity, and faster follow ups.

I'd go 9x23 win over 9x25 dillion

Nosferatu used to be on here regularly and he could give a lot of insight on this. But like flopsweat, knobgoblin, solvent, and many others they have moved away from the forum. Apparently it's due to over moderation?

In regards to more is better, .357 sig out of a 6" barrel is 640 fpe for s&b regular range ammo. Compare to 360ish for for 9mm. 10mm people are very familiar with but .357 sig is often ignored. Can be a lot of firepower in a pdw/pistol size with a happy stick, non moving red dot, brace, and compensator.

BRNO pistol in 7.5 FK is 850 fpe. Essentially 44 mag power in a double stack semi auto.

I'm a little late to this discussion, but, with the 9x25 dies and ammo almost impossible to find, what about just running a 357 sig reamer in farther and shoot in a 10mm platform?
Form cases from 10mm run partway into 357sig dies?
I read about some guy seating 180gn cast long to fit 10mm magazine with a sig barrel in a 10mm glock. I think he said he was getting 1500fps? That's not bad for an auto loader. You could hunt with that. So maybe get a 10mm longslide 1911 and a 38 Super barrel, then run a sig reamer in a little long? Use Quickload to estimate load data?
I think the 9x25 has a longer neck than the sig?
Or get Lee to make a run of 9x25 dies?

9x25 is my favorite handgun caliber. I have a Springfield XDM 5.25 that I get right around 2000fps from a 115gr bullet.

Underwood and Doubletap make factory ammo to hold you over until you get dies.

I was searching the other day, maybe KKM? they make a 6" .355 barrel in whatever chambering including 9x25. They only use a 1:10 twist.
I like to shoot tons of cast bullets. I wonder if I'd have any problems with stripping with the 10 twist?
I've read about guys starting with a 38 Super barrel that has a 1:16" twist

I found the right barrel for a Wilson style ramped 9x25 from kkm 6" and ordered it. Not sure when it's coming?
10mm EAA Witness 2311 6" delivered last weekend. Heavy trigger but very accurate
