870 vs M2 Receiver Contore

Hey all. I'm looking to drill and tap an 870, I'd like to use a Scalarworks optics mount for the micro footprint. They do not make one for the 870 but their is an option for the Benelli M2. Since I am drilling the holes it matter little the layout I just need it to fit the top contour of the receiver. Can anyone verify if the shape of the two receiver are compatible with each other?

Can you use the Vang Comp mount instead? It's set up for the 870 and a micro footprint.

I could. What I like about the scalarworks is that it uses 4 screws instead of 2.
