Gosh darn! White Crappie! Getting into an active crappie hole is the best! Surf Perch isn't that different when I think about it.

Yeah, I caught about 40 crappie that night. Just kickin' back in a paddle boat drinking beer, mortars going off overhead.

I'll use spin gear from time to time, especially when i'm teaching family how it's done.

I avoided the lake on the 4th and this weekend, too much traffic. That is a big ole gill. Love the dark colors.

Luckily I only had to share the lake with the occasional kayaker.
I assume the coloration has to do with the water from the lake being used for irrigation with cranberries. Also, i'm surprised how big the fish get in there, since I could probably stand up anywhere in the lake.
