Hobby Endeavor ... .458 Socum ...

Can you do it yourself? The ejection port dimensions for that huge .458 case coming out is something I never thought about. If I build that last ride LH AR15, eventually a LH .458 top end beckons.

Or could you just remove the cover? Requires barrel removal ... usually. Bummer. Or you could just cut out by small short section by small short piece that cover rod? Then remove the cover.

Then by powered high speed hobby tool gently remove the cover recess all around the port? Then the rod bosses? Then cold aluminum black anodizing to match the finish? Or modify the ejector?

Unlikely about the ejector setup.

All fresh ground for me. Also I remain somewhat concerned about the .458 Bolt Head service life. Has anybody done any studies with high round count .458 Socums? Oxymoron fur sures. :) :)

hundreds of builds. uncounted rebuilds. but not one LH AR15 in .458! :)
