FIrst one looked like genius to me personally. The other 3 not so much:eek:
Still trying to figure out what was up with the last two.... #3 i guess likes to make kindling and #4 is still a mystery to me.
At least #2 made sense cutting such large pieces, still too dangerous for my taste.
 
I'd like to see them go up against Quercus Garryana

I bet they won't work as well.

I just call that an Oak tree... lol
True but there are many differences between wood density in oaks. Quercus palustris isn't hard and dense like garryana etc..

Quercus robur is more what you find in furniture due to its growth patterns.

So that's why I've had those experiences with "oak" when I buy it from different craft and hardware stores. Makes sense to me!
I need to brush up on my tree identification skills!
