As a headline grabbing theory as it is , the possibility of people being alive on that sub was probably nil. It would mean the sub was hovering or slowly singling, disabled, above it's crush depth for almost a day. How likely is that?

The Kursk had survivors because the sub crashed on the sea floor, above the sub's crush depth, and was mostly structurally intact. Thresher sank in 2,600 meters of water, it's it's crush depth was above 730 meters.
