Just wondering if anyone has experience with the Speer 200 gr Hot-Cor .338 bullet? I am trying it in a .338 Federal 22" barrel and have found an accurate load at just under 2500 fps. My concern is that it might be too strongly constructed for the pedestrian velocity of the necked up .308 Win. case. I am hoping that it is considered "soft" for .338 Win Mag usage, which might make it decent for my use.

Reporting back on the 200 Speer hc, have yet to use them on game but I have recovered 4 from water jugs shot at 100 yards and the results were consistent. 4-5 gallon jugs of penetration and they all held together! I think these bullets are perfect for 338 fed velocities.

This load was 49.5 grains of cfe223
averaging 2580 fps at the muzzle.
