At least 30 Taliban militants have died in Afghanistan after they blew themselves up during a bomb-making class.

The Khaama Press News Agency said the fighters died when Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) they were learning to construct exploded inside a mosque, quoting a release from the Afghan Army's 209th Shaheen Corps.

The blast happened on Saturday morning at a mosque in the village of Qultaq in the Dowlatabad district of Balkh province.

The fighters included six foreign nationals.

The bodies of the six foreigners could not be identified because of the extent of the damage caused by the explosion, the army statement revealed.

The militants had gathered to learn techniques for making bombs and IEDS from the six foreigners, who were reportedly considered experts in the subject.

Violence in Afghanistan has been relentless while peace talks between the Taliban and government representatives that have been under way in Qatar for months have now stalled.

There has also been a nationwide spike in bombings, targeted killings and violence on the battlefield.

The Islamic State group's local affiliate has claimed responsibility for some of the attacks, but many go unclaimed, with the government putting the blame on the Taliban. The insurgents have denied responsibility for most of the attacks.

In eastern Ghazni province, the provincial governor's spokesman, Wahidullah Jumazada, said an airstrike called in during fighting with the Taliban killed at least 22 insurgents, including foreign fighters in the group.

Was always music to our ears sitting on our COP when we heard a kaboom in the very distant but no forces were out. Told us someone didn't pay attention enough during class. BDAs reflected as such too.
That country is built on bombs now thanks to all those random IEDs they've laid out for years and years that never got used plus all the ones the Russians placed when they would fly over and kicked out crates of them all over the country.

Shame too. It's a beautiful place if it weren't for all the hostility. And it wasn't always like that either. Look at afghan pics from the 50s and 60s, whole different life.

Someone left a duffle bag at our building once. There is a female I work with that is "from the past". We both volunteered to go check it out. As we knelt down to it, I looked at her and said we might get vaporized, with our body parts commingling forever. She said that was the most romantic thing I'd ever said.

Update: Allah called leading news agencies early this evening and claimed responsibility for the bomb blast that killed several unnamed Taliban fighters in bomb class 101.

Meanwhile, Taliban leadership is trying to find a way to blame former president Trump for the blast, claiming he must have incited the bombs to blast of their own accord using very strong, suggestive language.

Biden will blame it on trump and Obama will pressure him to send them a pallet of cash. We all know what kind of pressure too - "Trueinternationalunderpressure" ! :)
