Be mindful of your roofing material - some composition roofing has been treated with anti-moss and fungal chemicals. Probably fine for most uses, but for drinking water I would try to use water from metal roofing.

2nd that, Composition roofing is made from "flux". Flux is basicaly asphalt, Which is distilled frm crude oil. all the water that runs off your roof is contaminated with oil. It is a very small amount, but still contaminated. Boiling the water will not get ride of the oil. only distiling it will.

I wouldent be affraid to drink it just be aware.
