FYI, 1989 is out of the time period for PBRC Smiths. Elimination of the pinned barrel, along with the end of the counterbored cylinders in guns that had them, was begun in 1982. S&W used up old parts, though, and you will find revolvers made from 1982 through 1984 that have pinned barrel but no counterbored cylinders or counterbored cylinders but not pinned barrels.
