Carl Gustafs stads Gevärsfaktori

Karl Gustaf was rhe name of the king that gave the city where the royal armory was built "city privliges". Tha armory was founded in 1812.

The rifle was designed and developed (and some even produced) by Paul Mauser in Oberndorf in Germany. Paul Mauser was indeed one of the great weapons designers of all time but not quite a John Browning.
