1911 front site replacement needed

My front site fell out of my 1911. It is the staked in type.
I tried replacing it myself but did not do so well. I do not have a staking tool. Messed up the new site bad. I just would like to know were in portland or longview area I can bring my slide to get a new one put in right. And would it cost to cut a dove tail in the slide. deal away with the stake type front site.

The Gun Shop on 15th in Longview used to have a gunsmith that worked there. I'm not sure if he's still there or not, but it'd be worth a shot.

I've also got both a standard staking tool and a Trijicon front staking tool which should do most 1911A1 fronts--not the tiny 1911 ones and am in Vancouver.

What series is your Colt?? Wide tenon (.125) or the narrow (.055)?
I think I have a set from Kings Gun Works in my little shop- I do, plain hardball sights with the .125 tenon.

The slide is a "Model 1911A1 U.S ARMY". The blade is .055, so the smaller of the two. The old one was the white dot front an rear. I shoot this gun a lot so I would like to put something better then plain jane but the gun does not need any thing to big an bad. I would like to find another white dot set.

thanks for all the help. I picked up a new site at the gun shop an a old gun smith told me how he does the staking. I tried it his way an worked great.
so know have to shoot the gun an have a little fun.
