Looking for input on securing front sight.
I'm shooting a shadow systems MR920. They use a Glock pattern front sight.
The problem I have is that during high round count (300+) rapid fire training days the front sight loosens up.
Multiple times I have taken it apart, cleaned it and replaced using "red" thread locker. Continuing to perform the same repair doesn't sound like the best solution.
I appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.

Thank you

Did you thoroughly degrease everything prior to using the Loctite? I use blue and it holds, I only use red on gas block set screws, it should be serious overkill in a front sight.
This ^^^
I wouldn't use red on that tiny screw.
If red isn't holding you're doing something wrong like not de-greasing.

And keep in mind that if you can get red to work properly and you ever want to change that sight out, you'll probably have to break the screw.

I checked and I was mistaken on the thread locker. I had used green. I've been using isopropyl alcohol to clean. Is there a better solution to my degreasing? Sounds like that may be my issue.

Appreciate the good info.

Thanks

Rubbing alcohol should be fine.
Take an old toothbrush and scrub the threads.
I use Loctite 242 Blue for the Glock front sight.

I think your Permatex green might be a lower strength.

Dave Dawson of Dawson Precision floods the sight pocket on the top of the slide with Loctite.
I have never tried that. Just the threads for me.

Copy….I'll get Loctite. The permatex has not been working.
I'll brush it and try that
