This show today was the Willamette Valley arms collector show and is a good one. Not to be confused with the lame-o Collectors west show like the one in April.
Well, that's disappointing. There was just two weeks ago another show at the Rickreall and though I only just arrived when they were closing the door on Sunday all of my friends that did attend were grossly disappointed. I'm really worried what is going to happen to gun shows if measure 114 isn't repealed by the Oregon supreme court. I think firearm sales will be halted for a considerable time while they determine who is going to be allowed or responsible for teaching these firearm classes that are going to be required to purchase a firearm license to purchase.

I had no idea there was a show down there this weekend. Bummer!
You didn't miss much, unless you were looking for Turkish shotguns, Glocks and p320s... Oh and a garand I suppose. And everything was full market value +

I normally go just to see the displays and search for deals on reloading supplies and Dillon components. I havn't actually made it to a show in several years.

I complimented the display owner on his 1911 collection. He seems like a good guy, real knowledgeable.

I really enjoyed that show, went with my son. Personally the old surplus stuff is what I really like, but I wasn't tempted to buy a gun. I think high prices are just reality now. Any good deals get snapped up pretty quick, probably before the doors open.

I enjoy picking through the odds and ends, and talking to the old timers, some I've known for years and some I don't know. I saw a bunch of $50/k primers, $30/lb powder, and even picked up some $20/lb powder. I didn't need it but that's a good price nowadays. Despite the high gun prices, I still enjoy a show like this one.

That Rickreall show last week was surprisingly small, about half of what I expected.

treasure hunting at gun shows yessssss,
looking for 20 yo items at 20yo prices.
or 40+yo items at 40+yo prices
under the radar items, not popular in this area etc.
expanding my firearms knowledge too.
