Thinning the snider herd a little. Up for sale is a wonderful 2 band private purchase short rifle. 577 Snider caliber 5 groove fast twist barrel is absolutely amazing for the age of this gun. Looks almost new. Original length, and proper sights. These 2 band Sniders are the cream of the crop for shooters. This was a gun built by Pryse and Redman for purchase by officers and yeomanry that had to supply their own weapons at the time. This would be what was referred to as a Seargents Rifle in configuration. Shooting these has never been easier, brass is available from multiple sources, and loading for these doesn't even require a press or dies. They are a lot of fun. No ffl required as this is certainly a pre 1898 antique. Price is $1200, and can meet at exit 88 off I5.
This one I am willing to ship for $1265. It can ship directly to your door as an antique. Thanks!
To address a couple of questions-
No, this is not from the IMA Nepal cache.
Yes, it is British manufactured, this one being proofed in Birmingham.
Yes, the action has strong "snap" to it, I don't believe this gun was really shot much, if at all. The bore and action are like new. It is only the finish that shows a century of use.
The lock is strong with each position having crisp and clean engagement.
