This is a great story but the most interesting thing I read in the story is he killed a Brown Bear with birdshot.....I have always maintained that at close self defense range....(15-20 ft) birdshot is effective. The shot has not even left the cup yet. I know the story says he and his uncle finished the bruin after he was down.......but never the less the birdshot was effective. Also good job from the Alaska Fish And Game. In the lower 48 you would have a good chance of being prosecuted.

They should make a special exception that says he can pimp those bear balls around his neck at school.. like the boss that he is.
