We used to recrown hidden muzzles inside permanently mounted CAR flash hiders on 11.5-16" M16 barrels years ago by finding an appropriately sized steel ball bearing and tapping it into a flared 7.62x51 empty brass rifle case. Then grease and valve lapping compound was employed on the ball bearing and a deep drilled wood dowel holding the flared case.

The whole thing was dropped down inside the flash hider and the horrible factory muzzle crown was dressed up using the ball bearing and valve grinding compound as a cutter. Hand spun. Took time. Turned a non accurate barrel into a doable mostly accurate M193 ball ammo barrel. Twist was usually 1x12 which did not help. Anyhow, a long winded story on how to do it.

Can you find a hard steel ball bearing the right size to use to re crown your AK barrel? Sling shot ball bearings? Just a thought.
