p1 pistol
The Walther P38 (originally written Walther P.38) is a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol that was developed by Carl Walther GmbH as the service pistol of the Wehrmacht at the beginning of World War II. It was intended to replace the costly Luger P08, the production of which was scheduled to end in 1942.
Up for sale is an excellent condition Post-War P38 aka Walther P1. 9mm, same design as the P38 just without the heavy frame.
Bundeswehr marked, slide date code of 2/79. All numbers matching. Rarely if ever used, little to no wear at all. Fired only once by me.

In 1963 Germany resumed manufacture of the WWII-era P38 pistol as the P01 with an aluminum frame. These were the world's first DA/SA combat pistols, well ahead of their time. The P01 is steeped in history as East and West squared off in Berlin during the Cold War.
