The Smith & Wesson Model 36 (also known as the Chief's Special) is a revolver chambered for .38 Special. It is one of several models of J-frame revolvers. It was introduced in 1950, and is still in production in the classic blued Model 36 and the stainless steel Model 637 "Airweight".
Title says it all. 1973-74 Model 36 no dash in matching box with tools and papers. Faint turn line, matching cylinder and stocks. Tricks of lighting betray the pristine finish in the images of this fine piece. Tool bag lost somewhere along the way but tools are included as are the papers...

Here is a very nice old model Smith & Wesson model 36 no dash ( J prefix serial number ) chambered in .38 special. 1 7/8”” barrel. Action is very smooth and it locks up nice and tight in single action and double action. Bluing is in great shape, grips are also in great shape. Nice color...
