257 roberts
The .257 Roberts, also known as .257 Bob, is a medium-powered .25 caliber rifle cartridge. It has been described as the best compromise between the low recoil and flat trajectory of smaller calibers such as the 5 mm (.22") and 6 mm (.24"), and the higher energy but harder recoil of larger popular hunting calibers, such as the 7 mm (.28") family and the popular 7.62 mm (.30").The bullet diameter of the .257 Roberts is .257 inches (6.5 mm), not to be confused with the more well known 6.5 mm caliber (like 6.5×55 mm, 6.5 Grendel or 6.5 Creedmoor) which uses 6.7 mm (.264") bullets, or the .25 ACP pistol caliber which is 6.35 mm (.251"). The .257 Roberts uses the same caliber bullets as .250 Savage or the more powerful .25-06 Remington.

I have 34 rounds of Winchester Super Speed 257 Roberts ammo for sale. I am not sure how old this ammo is, but it is in very good condition and will come in plastic boxes as shown.
As far as I can tell from searching on google, this ammo is 100 grain.
I have searched for prices on this caliber...
This BLR was made in Japan in 1983...the first year production in 257 Roberts. This rifle has had 2 boxes through it to zero the scope then put in a safe years ago. I rate the metal at 99.5% and the wood at 98% only because of handling marks in the gloss finish. The scope is a Bushnell 3x9...
Evening all.
Hoping for some education here. Bought a lot sale today, and in one of the ammo cans, I came across 108 pieces of .257 Roberts Brass. Not familiar with the 257 caliber...can someone provide me any info on this? Worth anything (believe it's all once fired)?
SOLD!!!
I purchased this rifle new in the late 1980's. The bluing is perfect and the stock is in excellent shape having one mark on the left side in the receiver area (see pictures). The .257 Roberts is suitable for everything from varmints to elk while having a mild recoil.
