Hmmm,
Introductions..
Like most people, learned marksmanship from my old man.
Learned to shoot fast from a retired ???????
Still a long way to go at mastering anything.
My favorite cartridge is proabably 30-30

Welcome.

Like children, I have lots of favorites!
Ok, your handle is the same as a license plate I found at an estate sale(and used as my Avatar)
Of Cmciarse it was still in use.
Lol
I only have one child, but like you I like a lot of odd calibers.
I got a m 577 Snyder from my day, it is my favorite of the week.

I enjoy 7.62x39. It packs enough thump but not too much. It's cheap, and you can just throw the steel cases out when you're done.

Only negative is that bizarre combloc smell, which no other ammunition has.

Rifle cartridge, I'm with you! Hand gun I'd have to say .38 special/.357 magnum.

45 Win Mag.

If I had to choose one round it would be the 30-06, fortunately I dont so I have many favorites ( 7x57, 9.3x74r, 6,5x55, 375 H&H 300 H&H,....)

It would be .30-06 for me, too.

It worked in the wars, and it works great in the hunting fields.

Equally, a feller might say .308. Good choice too.

But since I've used and reloaded for .30-06 most of my adult life, it could very well settle in as my one and only.

Tough choices! For rifle, I would have to say .223 Rem. Cheap to load, accurate, mild recoil, love the AR platform as well as heavy barrel bolt guns.
For handguns, I would have to say .357 Mag/.38 Special. It was I started handloading with, and also economical and easy to keep your brass!
