Longer than your preference but I have a Taurus 627 6". 7 shot, ported barrel, very, very smooth action and nice trigger. Have only shot 1 cylinder of .357 and 1 of 38 special through it. It's matte stainless steel which can be polished if you prefer the shiny look. $400
