Hello all.

Came across a nice wood stock for my SAKO M85 that happens to be a short action cut. Wondering if I can have some wood shaved off where the action sits to open it to a medium action?

Anyone know anyone who can do it? Anyone ever try it?

Thanks for any pointers.

Are the action lengths different, or are the actions overall the same length, with a different magazine length?

Actions are different lengths as SAKO makes their actions to best fit the cartridge. The wood stock in question came off a 300wsm, which is a SAKO M85sm. I have M85m, so a little bit longer. Does that make sense?
