What action is the barrel threaded for? Also off the Mauser?

Yes it is ... that is what I am told ... but I am also told that the 7MM Mag is not a good conversion for the Mauser ... because the shells are to long for the magazine ... and make a real tight fiit ....

The 7mm Rem Mag works great in a newer Mauser action, just the surplus actions lack the length to be optimum for the big 7.
Any Interarms MarkX, or even the old Western Field Mausers would be a great fit.
